Hi Penny. There are several steel guitar events every year in Florida, I recall that there is one in Lakeland, one in the panhandle near Tallahassie and another near Jacksonville. They usually post here on the Forum. Of course there is also the monthly get together of the Florida Steel Club in Lake Panasofkee. Our good buddy Don Sulesky is very active with the Florida club and he can fill you in on details.

Meanwhile we are doing our best to keep things going here in the Northeast with our annual PSGA show. It's been a lot of work for the past 33 years. It would have ended years ago were it not for the dedicated support of our volunteers and members at largeworking so hard each year.

Hi Bob,

Wish I could make it, but these old bones probably couldn't survive that long trip. If Jody Carver is there again this year, say "Hi" to him for me.

To the rest of you reading this thread, the PSGA is the grandfather and one of the finest of all steel guitar associations. If you don't have a PSGA sticker in the rear window of your car, you may have trouble getting another steeler to help load and unload your gear.

I'm looking forward to being a part of this year's PSGA Show. It's one of the best run shows in the country, plus the fresh seafood restaurants are wonderful to this land-locked Denver boy.

I am more likely not able to make this years show, I will miss meeting those of you whom I have never met and those of you who are my friends. I will try to be there if I can, and to my friend Bob Maickel, keep a pass on hand for me. I enjoyed being at the show last year, but this year may be a difficult one for me to attend.
[This message was edited by Jody Carver on 26 October 2006 at 01:51 PM.]

Last year Elaine Ellis and I could only attend Saturday`s performances, because of a gig on Sunday. This year we have a gig on Friday night. Therefore we`ll be able to see the whole show. We just made room reservations, and are looking forward to a fun weekend.
[This message was edited by manny escobar on 26 October 2006 at 05:50 PM.]
