GFI Fretboards

After playing Emmons for a number of years, I purchased a SD-10 GFI Ultra as a "travel" guitar. As I got older the Emmons got heavier.

The question: I got use to the colored atoms on the Emmons and the black and white only GFI fretboard confuses an old man at times. So, what's the solution? What colored fret boards fit the GFI? Do I modify the GFI boards? Other solutions???

Thanks,
JimE

Use a colored Sharpie pen and color them in. Or if you don't want it permanent, use a highlighter.

The fretboards I really like are the ones used on the Fessenden guitars; the Texas longhorns.
I have put them on several different pedal steels. The guitar I'm playing now is a Zum Hybrid and it also has Fessenden fretboards. I just use double backed tap to put them down with so they can be removed at any time.

Erv,

Are they the same scale/length as a GFI?

Jim,
I believe GFIs are 24" scale. Most guitars today are 24 1/4" scale. Most Sho Buds are 24".

Bob

Jim,
Measure the scale on your GFI.
The Fessenden scale is 24 1/4".
