| Deos anybody know who was the steel player on the 1960 George Jones album "Salutes Hank Williams"? I have heard it was either Buddy Emmons or Jimmy Day but I am not sure who it was. |

I looked this up in the Mercury session logs.
"George Jones Salutes Hank Williams" was recorded in 1960 at Bradley's Recording Studio with Pig - Grady - Harold - Jerry Kennedy - Hank Garland - Mr. Emmons - Mr. Day & Buddy Harmon.
Jimmy was very proud of this album and told me they recorded it in one day.
Ten years later (June 11-25, 1970) Jerry Kennedy would produce "A Trip in the Country" for Mercury. |

So did Jimmy Day and Buddy Emmons both play the steel on this record? Were they featured on different songs? |
