(Maybe you want to move or even remove this post, and in that case I´m sorry for my mistake putting this up here).

Swedes don´t brag. Swedes are taught not to talk about how good they are or how happy they are over their own accomplishments and achievements… But I don´t care!! Maybe I´m not Swedish?? Either way: Here it comes!

I´m so friggin´ happy! My band Four Leaf Clover was awarded Best Act in the Pure/Traditional Country category at the Swedish Country Music Championship (Country SM 2013) this past weekend!

And as if that was not enough we were awarded the greatest award of all: The Audience Choise Award!

The audience chose us as the best band of all 15 nominated bands through all categories (Bluegrass, Rockabilly, Alternative Country, Pure Country and Pop/Rock Country). And believe me; The other bands were totally awesome! Really! There was at least one band ready for the larger scenes internationally in the pop/rock category. And many more really talented ones.

There were actually 4 bands with Pedal Steel Guitars!! I thought I´d might be the only one there… but nope! Even younger age bands in pop/rock used PSG! Love that!!

So how´s that for a small countryside band doing this for fun?! I´m grateful and humble for what we have been awarded. As for me, a PSG newbie since 2,5 years it feels huge. I didn´t see this coming. But it did!! So now I have told the world!!!

Sven

Grattis søta bror!!! You clearly got reason to brag, so even if you're Swedish there's no reason to hold back. Very Happy

I just came to Think of things I Heard on the Contest... I was the only one with an Emmons PP. I´m not much of a picker, (but as you know less might be more). However, I can´t take being mixed down, and I told that to the sound guys. And they didn´t shut me up in the mix. I got much appreciation for my sound, the PP sound. Other pickers showed their interest for the PP and were impressed by the sound. One picker had a nice Carter, Another had a GFI Ultra and a third had a JCH. I loved the sound of the JCH (maybe because it was played by the super nice, super talented Olle Westerlund). But apart from the JCH the PP stood out with it´s sound. So the PP is steel going strong! Very Happy
