I guess there are other forums I could go to with this question, but I figured with some knowledgeable people here it's worth a shot.
I have a Fender Cabronita Telecaster. This guitar has two TV Jones Filtertron-style pickups, a volume pot, and a three-way toggle switch--that's it. When the volume knob is turned down, at about 9 a substantial hum that wasn't there at full volume comes in, and then is turned down gradually as the knob is turned down. Switch position makes no difference. As far as I can tell the wiring configuration looks typical. Must be some sort of ground issue. Anyone know what would cause this? |

Brint, check you ground and lead on the jack and make sure they are correct and not switched backwards ( hot going to ground sleave). If that isnt it, maybe take a pic and post it or email it to me.

It sounds like a common ground issue 'Before' the volume pot if it goes away when the volume is turned down...Was there a ground for all the pick-ups mounted somewhere, where all the grounds met on a tang?? ala Pickguard/bridge/body etc?? Check also between tone pot and volume pot.
Sorry not familiar with that model.
