Allen Melbert 8 string

Post by Sean Jenkins »

I just bought an Allen Melbert 8 string steel guitar and wanted to say that I am very pleased with the build quality and tone of this instrument. Nice response and sustain, quality tuners, and good overall craftsmanship.

I did quite a bit of research when I decided to purchase an 8 string and the Allen Melbert guitars seemed to be the best value, especially for an 8 string (he also does 6 and 10). Bob was very helpful throughout the process and even included a paloma stone slide as well as the gig bag, cable, fingerpicks, and Stevens tone bar with the purchase. The guitar was built in 5 weeks which was the estimate he gave me at the beginning, and he kept me updated throughout the process. Excellent customer service.

If anyone out there is looking for a quality lap steel that won't break the bank, be sure to send Bob an email. He was very friendly and informative and makes a nice lap steel guitar.

Thanks Matthew! It is definitely cool to get a solid instrument at an affordable price. I also like being able to communicate directly with the builder. Good stuff.
