Hello all,
I am wondering if you Weiss players find that you need a heavier bar for a baritone. I have tried a classic Stevens, a 5.5 oz Dunlop bullet and a Shubb SP-1 and it seems that neither have quite enough mass to get sustain on the lower strings. Not sure where to go from here other than a pedal steel 7 oz bullet. I am playing a Lazy River 27.5-inch bari with Pearse bari strings.
Thanks!
chuck

I use a normal Paloma Stone bar, and I find that it just doesn't work for bass (3rd neck T8) steel... I'm using a TriboTone bar for that, works great... basically teflon-wrapped lead.
So yes, more mass equals better bass response AFAIC.
