I had a D10 lost by fedex a few years ago and they kept telling me it was delivered to me, but found out later that they had dropped it at one of their transfer stations and they didn't know what to do with it so it just set their for about a week and then they sent it back to the shipper (Bob Knight). What a mess that was. Hope yours turns up. |

After hurricane Rita in Southeast Texas a lot of items got lost by Fedex. My son had some materials that rode around the country from truck to truck for months and finally wound up in a depository. There was nothing in the system to take them out of the depository once they were there. He finally got his stuff but it was a long time coming. They have a tracking system and kept up with the wereabouts but would not intercept the package and re-route. My advise is don't give up....make them find it and deliver it to you. |

Mr. Bierly,
I used to work for FedEx here in Memphis, Tennessee. Your scenario is not a unique one; however, I have faith that your Fender 400 will be recovered! As I am certain you have already done, call (800) 463-3339 (GoFedEx) and be sure to write down the name and employee number of the customer service representative you speak with. Do not allow them to persuade you that they do not have an employee number- everybody from corporate brass to truck drivers has an employee number if they work for FedEx. Make sure you hold these folks accountable for their infraction! Best wishes and best of luck to you, Sir!
Yours truly,

This one really hits home for me because it was en route to my shop. FedEx has NEVER screwed up with me B4 which is why I use them for all of my shipments now. They have done a truly fabulous job. What makes this situation scary is that Ed's tracking number disappeared from the radar screen. That is a highly unusual set of circumstances. I can understand and deal with a parcel being mis-directed and therefore ending up somewhere else for a day or two. But this large package just evaporated!! Why does this happen to steel guitars when "run-of-the-mill" parcels get delivered post haste??? I would definitely recommend that the phone be ringing off the dog-gone (I cleaned it up a bit) hook until this thing is found and delivered. This is NOT a little box or padded envelope. This thing is a foot-and-a-half tall, over four feet long, and over six inches thick!!! Not your little parcel per se. It also weighed in at 60 pounds!!! FedEx better clean up their act and get this situation resolved. . .NOW!!! Ed - gmail me the tracking number ASAP and I'll start "squeezing" at this end. This has GOT to be solved!!!

FWIW - ebb's 400 showed up at my shop unscathed after a nervous 24 days and a brief side-trip to Utah. All's well that ends well!!

Ebb,In 1990 I think, I bought a Cadillac during a trip to the U.S, I bought it in New Mexico drove it to L.A.and asked my agent in L.A.to shipp it to Brisbane Australia.
Well that Cadillac visited just about every country in the world and finally turned up in Melbourne, where it was stored on the wharf for a few weeks unbenown to me. When I finally located it I was informed it would cost me $50 a day for storage and they would not release the car untill the fee was paid.I had to pay over $2000 for nothing. The agent in L.A. would not answer my calls and wiped his hands of my problem. Hope you don't have anything like this happen, I'm sure you won't, so good luck It'll turn up I'm sure.
Geoff.
