MCI S10 for sale w/case (price reduced to $1300)

Post by David Mansfield »

This is an MCI 3 + 4 that was rebuilt by Jim Flynn of Lone Star Steel Guitars. Mostly MCI parts with Fessenden quick change bell cranks, and a couple of Derby bell cranks and pullers for the stuff I had added. George L E66 pickup. Wood neck, no scratches/dings. Great classic MCI tone. VERY light; aluminum legs, weighs 25 lbs. without the case. Case is Thomas with very pretty tooled black leather look. I put a few extra latches on and some extra foam so it will travel well.

I bought this guitar from Bob Hoffnar and recently replaced it with a new Williams (I'm hoping to recover some of the cost of the new guitar :-) )

John Widgren did a bunch of work on it. He went through it with a fine toothed comb to clean and lube; he shortened the pedal rods, which were too long; I had him set it up with a standard Emmons copedent, he installed a 6th string split, and he installed a return spring bracket and springs.

I bought the guitar from Bob for $1300 plus shipping, and put another $360 into it. I'll sell it for what I paid for it, $1300 plus shipping.

Here are the original pictures Bob posted - the guitar has not changed!

Best,
David

Also thought I'd mention that I'd consider trades. I'm looking for a Bart Reiter open back banjo, and a Bill Nash telecaster.

Charles, I PM-ed you. About the color, the body is blonde and the neck has a very light green tint to the stain. Don't know if it used to be darker and faded, the finish looks good and the color is uniform.
