Fred came to me and wants to have some fun playing pedal steel. We got him a bright red D10 Shobud, some picks and a bar and a few tips on playing and sent him on his way. He has that fire in his eyes and time on his hands.

He knows this will be a long process but is willing to jump in with both feet, (both hands and both knees too).

He lives close so he can come over often.

So for those who think steel is dead or dying look around. We here in the NW are alive and well. I had 3 newbies this year and 4 last year. All is well in steel land.

Larry, why are there so many Newbies in the Northwest? I live in the northeast corner of southern West Virginia and only get the occasional newbie. Two last year. I'm collecting learner PSG's for the eventual cascade of interests. Hope it is soon.

Something to keep us busy during our very long rainy season?
