Looking for a little feedback

Howdy guys and gals,

I've been fiddling with my PSG for a while now and finally feel comfortable to put up a couple tracks of my steel work on the web. The two I'm most proud of are Mansion on the Hill, which I figured out from a YouTube vid the old fashioned way, and Together Again, which I transposed off a tab I found somewhere. Have already ran them by fellow forum member Robert Jones and got his stamp of approval but would love to hear more opinions/corrections/advice/whatever from anyone else who has far more experience than I do.

Here's the link:

Look forward to reading what anyone has to say.

I think you sound fine, you seem to know where you need to be but yet hold back with uncertainly but thats common and nothing serious as you get more relaxed with your playing that will get better. guitar has nice tone. but slightly out of tune not really bad just a little. that could be coming from bar pressure but again over time that too will get better as well. keep on picking and keep on posting

Hey Mr. Barcus,

Thanks so much. You are totally correct all the way around, I'm still kind of unsure of my moves, plus I was working with a software amp simulator that just sounds way too harsh and makes things sound way too sensitive, so I was constantly changing my touch. And with all of that to concentrate on, I guess I might have been pushing down on the bar some without realizing it. I listened back and totally heard what you were talking about, and now am on the road to trying to fix it. Over the past several years I've not played my steel very much due to lack of time, but now I think my schedule and the want to of learning has finally arranged itself to where I can devote a least 1 hour a day to practicing and progressing further. Once again thanks so much. Love your YouTube videos, very helpful stuff in every one of them.
