1997 Mullen Pre-RP, 1st string issue

Post by Dave Goodman »

I use my LKR lever to raise my 1st and 2nd strings (F# to G#, and D# to E); and to lower my 6th string to F#. All OK except if I tune the 1st string up to G# with the nylon tuning nut, it returns much too sharp and I have to lower it back to F# with the keyhead tuner. Chasing my tail. Anyone?

That sounds like a classic case of overtuning. Loosen the nylons nut until nothing happens even when you hit the lever. Then tune the F#. Then, activate the lever and tune your G#. if the problem persists, you may need to add some travel to that lever, and adjust the stop.
2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects

Thank you Lane. I added some travel and then adjusted the angle of the lever. That corrected the problem.
