Anyone ever tried replacing the stock GFI Student tuners with Grover 210C's?

To perform the replacement, you will obviously be required to purchase two sets of Grover tuners which will set you back approximately $100.00..The main drawback that I can see to upgrading a student model steel is that you can become "upside down" (much more invested than you could possibly realize in a sale or trade)rather quickly..IMO; Better to save the cash and at a later date, purchase a professional grade guitar which will in all likelyhood be equipped with the desired upgrades such as better quality tuners, pickups, etc.

Scott, you clearly love to tinker. Otherwise you wouldn't have bought a D-10 Marlen, rebuilt it then sold it after doing so rather than playing it.
I'd recommend an old MSA Classic. Good playing and easy to wrench on and lotsa people make the parts.
Beefing up a student model doesn't make much sense unless you're crazy over the tone.
