Well it's that time of year again."The International Steel Guitar convention" in St. Louis. It is put on by the steel guitar guru, Hall of Fame member Dewitt "Scotty" Scott and his family. Every year I think it can't get any better but somehow it does. As part of the convention back up band, I want to invite you all to the super bowl of steel guitar shows. All of you who have been there know what to expect and those who have not grab your pants because you will see and hear things you only have dreamed of. You will hear and talk to the greatest pickers in the world and guess what?, they will be very glad to talk with you. I am looking forward to seeing all of you there and sometime during all the confusion please grab my arm and say "HI". If you are real lucky you might hear a Ron Elliott joke are two. See you in St. Louis, Bobby

Bobby- you are absotively, posilutely correct- it is the SUPER BOWL of steel shows! My special friend of 40+ years and his family work very hard to make this happen each year! Will I be there? I'll give you three guesses, and the first two don't count!
P.S.- I'll see you there!

Unfortunately I'll only be there in spirit this year, I'm starting Chemo in two weeks.
I hope Steel Radio gets to broadcast a lot of show.

Susan and I will be arriving Thursday and it will be my pleasure to help with some of the emcee work this year. I am really looking forward to meeting some of the great players that I have never met before plus old friends, new friends and of course, my "Swingin' West" listeners.

It is great to hear that Mike Gross will be helping MC the show this year. Mike is one of the best MCs and DJs I have ever known, as well as one of the most knowledgeable about steel guitar and music.

Hey I forgot to tell you I will have my new CD available at St Louis this year. It is titled "More Finger Style" and kind of a tribute to Chet and Merle. I have had a lot of people ask me for another fingerpickin' CD so here it is. Stop by my booth and say "hi" to me and my lovely wife Linda. Bobby

Bobby,
This will be the third Convention we have attended. It is great to meet and hear all of the wonderful Steel players. Not taking away from the steelers by any means, but your style and playing is one of my favorites! I'll be getting one of your new CDs! Your style and tone are to be commended and it is so rarely heard with todays guitar players! Looking forward to St. Louis!
