....with your father or someone else you respect who plays steel guitar.
You know during those times when you feel down and things are not going well with your PSG goals and you need someone to talk to? |

Stuart, Yes, with Frenchy in Belen, NM.
I can't post what he told me cause it's not "family friendly", for the forum. Send me a PM and I'd be happy to share his in-site! Seriously! _________________ Just 'cause I look stupid, don't mean I'm not. |

I'm PMing you!
Bo used to visit and bought a few things a few times from Frenchy in Albuquerque and then Belen NM
(I don’t remember them as friends) way back when.
Bo was playing in Terry Bullard’s band at the time and working for Southwest Entertainment out of Albuquerque NM.
We lived and Bo played all over New Mexico for many years. |

Son I hope I strike a chord with you when I tell you five of the most
Important things to remember about creating PSG music.
1. Don’t be wimpy establish tonality in your intros (use them dominant 7s)
2. Don’t bore folks with your circle of fifths (use harmonic scales)
3. Chords are like women in that all consonant or all dissonant is not the best choice.
Variety is better with some consonant (triads) some dissonant (7ths) maybe even
at times over dissonant and chromatic.
4. Create emotion with your chord progression. Lay off the thirds up or down, back off them fifths
up from the tonic..
Use those fifths down and use them up only toward the tonic. Use chromatic progression sparingly like cheap cologne.
5. For crying out loud learn how to modulate. I mean dig into the differing types of modulation.
Sequential, relative, parallel and pivot.
OK Stuart now explain all this! |

Thanks Andy but no apology necessary. I know at times we can be irritatingly sarcastic and that misleads some to feel we are not sincere with our topics and are just playing tricks on everyone.
We just feel that describing how to install a bell crank can be very boring so we like to share what we have learned about bell cranks and compare it to making banana pudding. |
