This Sunday, June 9th, we'll be holding the Annual Phelps Bros. Music Festival at Lakeside Park in South Norfolk (Chesapeake), Virginia from 1:00 to 6:00 PM. This has been going on for about 15 years now or so. This'll be my 7th or 8th year working it. The first band will be Dallas who work a lot around this area. Next will be the "All Star Band" of which I'm a member of... The band includes Tee Meroney on lead vocals & rhythm guitar, Garland Abbott III on bass & vocals, me on lead guitar and mandolin, Roger Gray on fiddle, Lonnie Godfrey on drums and last but not least, Bobby "Muskrat" Reames on pedal steel... The event will be emceed by Disc Jockey Hall of Fame member Joe Hoppel..... Hope to see you out there.... Here's a couple of shots from years past.........JH in Va.
