Darlene and John and the guys in the band always put on a fine show. On August 9th they will be at Greis Park in Lynbrook, Long Island, which is just a few miles from the NY City limits. That show is also free admission. There is always a receptive audience at these concerts. I have fond memories of playing the same venues of summertime outdoor concerts when I was steel man with the Country Squires Band from 1976 until 1983.
You'll enjoy the fine musicians of the Bragg Hollow Band.
Here are directions to the parks:

I find no reason to have to "bump" this thread, however only to reiterate what my good friend Bob Maickle has posted. John D. is a great steel guitarist and has come a long way in a relativley short time. He plays smooth and tasty, and he makes his great sounding Zum steel sound all the better with the hands that God gave to John.
This is a fine group and If any of you are in the area, or not, it will be worth your while to listen to John DeMaille as he puts his Zum steel through it's paces.
Unfortunatly my back which has disc problems keep me from driving the distance from Pennsylvania to Long Island. But if those of you who are looking for a treat, try to get out to hear a great group, featuring a beautiful voice of that of Darlene.
Good luck to a fine bunch of musicans as well as nicer folk's you could ever find.
I will however be certain to be in Norwalk this coming November to hear a fine steel guitarist.
Thank You. PS I have know Bob for Maickel for over 55 years and yet I can't for the life of me spell his name correctly
Thanks again and try to make the shows.[This message was edited by Jody Carver on 30 July 2006 at 05:40 AM.] |

John - I saw your show at Wantagh on Monday night and it was FANTASTIC! I apologize for not saying hello, but I had my one year old daughter with me and we had to leave right in the middle of Glendale Train. But, man I really enjoyed your steel playing. I have lived on LI most of my 50+years and never heard that level of pedal steel guitar playing locally, so for me, (and I must say for everyone there also), your music was a real treat. Your band was great and I enjoyed the wide range of material you played - everything from Ray Price to Bob Dylan, and NRPS.
It was just a fantastic night! When are you playing again? Next time I'll come early and stay late! |

Daryl,
"Thanks a lot", for the very kind remarks. We had a great time doing the show and we were all glad the temp went down from 97 to 87 for the show.
We're playing this Wednesday, Aug 9th, at Greis Park, in Lynbrook. It's on Wilbur St, off of Merrick Rd. Showtime starts at 8:00 PM. Looking forward to seeing you, but, this time stop and say hello.
Thanks,
John |
