I attended the branson jam yesterday and it was one of the best I have been too. All player's where very goooood. The stand out's to me though where. Austin Stewart the 12 old, Mike sweeney and Mike McGee. The speed and GREAT tone of Austin was a BIG surprise.Terry Bethel also played his usual smooth style. Joe Wright closed the Jam and was very entertaning, funny and different. We had a WONDERFUL time at Branson. I just don't have words to express how fun that day was. EVERYONE played great! It doesn't get any better than that band either. They make it all the more fun to listen and Austin and Dad say it's even more fun to pick with them. The Branson show is one we always look forward to. A big THANK YOU goes out to Mr. Terry Bethel for letting us be a small part of this wonderful show. Terry's part of the show was soooo GREAT yesterday. I had chill bumps from beginning to end. I could go on and on, but I would leave someone out. I'll just restate that everything was soooo much fun.

We had a great time at Branson yesterday. We got home late, but didn't have too much trouble staying awake. We were all talking about the SHOW!!!!!!!!! The Band is WONDERFULL. Our granddaughter thought she would be bored, but she really enjoyed the band. Especialy the FIDDLE PLAYERS!!!!!!! She enjoyed Joe also. Thanks to Terry for having us. Thanks to the great response from the crowd. I think the crowd keeps growing every year. Keep coming. See you next year I hope. Donna
P S. Hank, Austin's speed suprised us too. We were all holding our breath hoping he would make it through Orange Blossom!!!!!![This message was edited by Jerry Lee Newberry on 31 July 2006 at 06:59 AM.] [This message was edited by Jerry Lee Newberry on 31 July 2006 at 07:00 AM.] |

I hope to see Austin's brother on piano soon. While Beverly and I were talking to his mother, he made it very clear he wanted to be on stage playing. |

My second year in a row to attend. It was great! Many thanks to Terry for all the work he
puts into this show. Hope he's able to continue with it. Wish Austin would learn to play Orange Blossom Special a little slower, I can't listen that fast! Thankks again Terry.

Lavelle, You missed a good one. See you down the road.
Jerry & Venda, Thanks for all the work you put into the show. I know you are a big help to Terry.
Keith, Sure wish we could find a piano teacher that lived close to Dalton. He is interested in that. Venda is the one I would like to teach him,but she is about 1 1/2 hrs. away. He LOVES to sing too. He used to sing on some of the shows, but it's been a while. Donna[This message was edited by Jerry Lee Newberry on 31 July 2006 at 10:44 AM.] |

Patrick, sorry I missed you at the show. Had another steel player from Nebraska there too but I can't remember his name.
Just want to give Terry a big "thank you" for a great show again this year. First class all the way. Wish I could have all of it on dvd to listen to over and over again.

Where to start? Terry and the gang did a great job again this year! The steelers came prepared to play and boy did they get that job done. Everyone was on and everyone had great tone this year. I have had Joe many times but I think he was at the top of his game on Sun. He played great at our show in Peoria but he was definitely wound up. Maybe it was because he was in our room Sat night and enjoying a "coke" or something like that. Come to think about it Scotty was there too and he sounded great on Sun.
We brought friends this year and had told them the band was worth the admission and they were soooo impressed with the Branson Connection! Doesn't get any better than this band (and we are proud of the CISGA band).
We are already making plans for the Branson show next year. Might mention if you are not a member of the Ozark Steel Guitar Association you should join. They can't keep putting on this caliber of show without support!
Again thanks Terry and talk to you soon...

Just want to thank everyone at the show for making my wife and mother-in-law and myself feel so welcome. Can't really expand on what's been said about the band and staff. Everyone and everything was first class.
Thanks Terry for inviting me.
This is a show I hope to get to play again...

Sorry guys,,, I loved all of your great picking BUT Austin has my vote. I love him a lot and am amazed at the progress he has made every time I hear him. He is our future in the steel business and all we have to do is step back and watch him fly because I think he is going to be one of the best there is,and if he don't turn out that way I'm gonna be a very Mad Louisiana steel picker. Buck, I am going to have to spend two weeks squeezing Austin's head back down to size after you just bragged on him that way. LOL.
No, really, I don't show him what people write on the forum very often. Wouldn't want his head to get too big. We do appreciate what everyone writes though.
After I heard you and Wade do that Cajun stuff Sunday, I told Mom that I was going to send Austin home with you and tell him not to come back until he learned all your Cajun songs. Wow, you did soooo good!
