San Antonio Steel Guitar Association will have our next steel guitar jam session June 2, 2013 at the William Randolph American Legion Post #593 in Converse, Texas.
We have 2 goals for our jam sessions. First is to have a meeting place once a month where steel guitar players and dobro players and lap steel players can get together to play, learn, and enjoy getting to know each other. The second reason starting last year and going through this year is to donate what we can collect in our donation can to the Wounded Warriors Fund. Last year we donated all together 500.00 to the Wounded Warriors through the American Legion. This year we hope to exceed 800.00. Back to the meeting...hours are from 2 pm until 5 pm and all players are welcome no matter what your skill level and Roger Edgington is offering to help any beginners or starters or anyone else wanting help on "how to".
Players please be tuned up and ready to play by 2 pm. Rose Sinclaire will be our featured player and will have her cds available for sale.Rose plays a non pedal steel guitar and you'll enjoy her playing..the American Legion will have the kitchen open and the canteen will be open for your favorite beverages. The "4 SALE" table will also be available for those wanting to thin out their guitars, amps, pedals, lessons, cds etc. Come share in the fun....free admission....Joe Rouse |

I plan to be there again. I also saw and heard Rose in Austin. She and the back-up band were "knocked out" so to speak. Said she was looking forward to Converse. Don't miss it. |

We did have a jam session + Sunday. We had 8 steel guitar players including myself and started the jam session off with our featured player Rose Sinclair from Austin. The entire band and all the players started the fun and it did not stop having fun until 5pm. Anyone who has not heard Rose Sinclair playing her non pedal steel guitar has missed a great talent and a great lady. The players Sunday were Ken Metcalf, Dave Goodman, Dean Valerie, Stephen Cowell, Bill McCumber, Rose Sinclair, Mark Moseley and Joe Rouse. Our band which did an exceptional job was band leader Kenny Piper on fiddle guitar and vocals, Mark Moseley guitar and vocals, Ben Price bass and vocals, and Dean Schilling on trumpet. Dean was great playing along with Rose. Once again the American Legion Post #593 treated us great with the canteen open for our favorite beverages and the hamburgers out of this world. Thank you to Sylvia Rouse and Jorja Piper for helping us so much. Our next jam session will be July 7, 2013. Come enjoy the good music, good friends and lots of fun...jr |

Hey this was a great steelin' afternoon. Joe, you surprised me, that's the best I've ever heard you play. It was just great to play along with everyone, and Rose had us doin' stuff that made us try to remember "harder". Thanks for the pixs, Ben. We'll see everyone 7JUL. _________________ Infinity D-10 |
