Pedal Steel in Peoria Illinois

Post by Jason McAllister »

I've fallen in love with the sound of pedal steel and am looking to buy one, and also looking for a teacher. I've been checking the internet and calling music stores within an hour of me, and there just aren't any I've found that have Pedal Steel in stock. Anyone have any recommendations for teachers and instrument sales near Peoria?

Scottys Music

Scottys music is on Midland Blvd Overland Mo. Not that far from you. Also Jeff. County Music on old Hy 21 Otto mo. Both are friends and stock some steel guitars. You are about 2 hrs drive for either. I can look up the numbers if you want to make the drive.

Thanks for the recommendations Larry. I don't mind driving a few hours to Missouri. I'll just make a weekend out of it.

No need to look the numbers up for me. I was able to find their sites.

I also got an offer from a local forum member to give me some lessons. This is a great community. Thanks guys.

Lessons are no longer available at Scotty's. However I give lessons (both necks) just across the river in Waterloo, IL. Call Dewitt at Scotty's, he'll give you my phone number.

Gary Sill who often posts in "for sale" has a store and stocks several Mullen, accessories, and whatever used gear he may have. He's in Mt. Zion, IL. I think you need to call ahead, as it's not open all day waiting for walk-ins. I think he might also offer lessons, but I'm not sure.
