Hahaha, that is great...every Canada Day (July 1st) my wife and I go downtown to Parliament Hill, where every year there are roughly 500,000 people swarming around. Inevitably there is a South American band playing on a corner near the Rideau River with a very predominant pan flute. As soon as I hear it, I try to divert my wife in a different direction. As soon as she hears it, she drags me toward it.

Those of us that have been married 20 years or more (31 for me) realize that we have to choose our battles. I just shut down the auditory part of my brain for the 10 minutes we stand there, although my teeth still hurt!

Crap, I just realized it's almost July 1st!

Cheers,
Mike

I think the pan flute has that haunting , deeply sexual sound that brings chills to my olde bones !! ABBA used that sound on one of their hit songs ?? There were other hit tunes that featured the sound . I think maybe girls really dig it !!?? There is definitely something in the air when the pan flutes play !! Eddie "C" AKA the olde fool geezer

Funny thing is, when my son was just an infant, there were many times when he would cry inconsolably, and we could just not get him to stop crying --- until we put on Zamfir's pan flute music! Then he stopped crying immediately and calmed right down! It was amazing. He's now 24 years old and a few months ago he was home and my wife and I got the notion to see if he still resonated with pan flute music, so we dug out that old Zamfir tape and put it on for him... No reaction. I guess he outgrew it. Well, that's probably a good thing, huh? Wink

I'm really not a pan flute hater.. (although the Zamfir era marketing certainly gave me heartburn, very much like the Esteban info-mercials do today).

I just thought the flow chart was funny. I may make one up for tambourine.
