Help identifying Mike Auldridge tune

Hi all,
This month I'll be fortunate enough to be part of a wonderful country pioneers tribute show in Carrboro, NC (June 28, Carrboro ArtsCenter). As part of the proceedings, I get to perform a tune from Mike's seminal "Dobro" album called "It's Over."
In trying to write up program notes, the source of the tune turns out to be something of a mystery. It's listed just as "traditional" on the original vinyl. I've asked over on the reso forum and even the guy who actually played bass on that session didn't know where the tune came from.
With a little more research it seems it might have been loosely based on a pop hit by Jimmie Rogers (the later pop singer Jimmie Rodgers, not the earlier country guy) of the same title, but modified quite a bit. I was wondering if anybody here could shed any more light on its origins?
Here's a vid of Rob Ickes covering the tune

And here is the Jimmie Rodgers tune. As you can hear, the verse is similar, but the b section entirely different.

Thanks,
