This couldn't have happened to a nicer man than Roy, and Laurie thank you for posting this and thank you for all you and Roy have done for me. See both of you in St.Louis in 2007. You were so kind to Marilyn and myself and I'll never forget that.

Best wishes next stop?? I'm praying. PS. there is always a PS with me.#28 is my lucky number. ImageNo it's not the year I was born, I was born in 1929, but my ID number Fender was
#28. I had better take a break or bOb lee will get after me. Image
[This message was edited by Jody Carver on 25 July 2006 at 04:22 AM.]

Hey, guys and gals, I had no idea I was being considered for this HOF. In fact, I don't even know who may have nominated me -- but I feel highly honored.
================
Edited to say that I just learned that my west coast friend, Jim Sanderson, nominated me. Lou Bischoff will accept the award in my behalf.

Roy,

Congratulations! It will be great to have you as a Hall of Fame brother. You should have joined us long ago. I sure wish that Susan and I could have made it out there this year.

Roy (and Laurie, of course Image)

You should attend the event if at all possible. It's a wonderful weekend of western swing old and new. You'll see a lot of people you haven't seen in decades and you'll hear some young kids playing great swing.

I wasn't going to attend when I was inducted because of a family tragedy, but my family insisted I go and the show truly brightened a sad time in my life.

And congratulations on your membership, btw. Well deserved, indeed. Image

Hey Roy, I'll sweeten the pot to further entice you into visiting our fair state.... if you like, I'll be glad to make my Carter U12 and NV112 available for you to play anytime during the 4 days of music. In fact I'd be honored to have you play "blondie".

Thanks to all of you for the kind words. It will not be possible for us to make it to California for this great event -- due primarily to family obligations. I sure wish we could be there. It is a great honor for me, and it would be nice to share the induction ceremonies with my many west coast friends -- but it's just not in the cards. Ms. Lou Bischoff, President of the Seattle Pioneers of Western Swing HOF, has graciously agreed to represent me in Sacramento.
