I got Keith's new cd at the Marsfeild steel show. I LOVE this CD. I like every song on it from start to finish. Keith has really put together a top-notch album. The songs on the CD are all original, and all are very well written.
Keith does some great steel playing on this record. Him and the rest of the band really have their stuff together. Anyone who likes good country music, and good steel playing should get a copy of it. You won't regret it.

I agree with all that has been said about " Staring At The Moon". It is so refreshing to hear good ol shuffles that are originals. I have thought for a long time this needs to happen in order for our kind of music to survive. Keith and Gary are pioneers so to speak regarding this. My hats off to them. The awesome thing about this is the songs are well written and the music/recording is excellent. Keiths steelin is flawless, the backup musicians are top notch, and I think Gary has one of the greatest voices to ever come out of the Ozarks. It's about time something like this happened and I am proud it came from Missouri. If you want to give your ears a treat buy this CD. It needs to be supported for it's quality and inovation! Besides it's just dang good listening!

| Thanks to everyone for the kind words. Yes, Terry Bethel put together a "KILLER" band for the recording. When you have a great band, and you are playing the music you love, you can get dangerous. Guys--let your bass player hear the bass, and ask your bass player how we got the bass to sound that way. It is the original Tic Tac sound we used to hear out of Nashville. I love fiddle. I did all the musical arranging, and I let Wade Landry go wild. Hope everyone knows it was the E9th steel guitar doing that low note on the song "The Robbery". How did he do that? Hint-tuned a string way down! Gary is a great singer, song writer and friend. We can tell some war stories from the days we were single playing the biggest night club in Joplin, Missouri. I don't think we could handle the fun we had in Joplin nowdays. On second thought maybe we could. I met my wife Beverly when we were playing that job in Joplin. I hope I did something on steel that curled your hair. |

| Thanks to everyone for the kind words about our CD. We could have cut many corners to save on money. In every case the end product would have suffered. Making a CD is not really difficult, but to make one with great artistic quality is very difficult. Yes, we had the best Musicians in Branson, and the best Studio in Branson, but that alone does not produce quality. Gary Atkinson, Terry Bethel, and I spent many hours working out arrangements, musical parts, and mixing. It is an involving process that starts to take on a life of it's own, all the time eating more money. Besides the artistic quality, there is really two big differences in our CD. First difference is: We stuck to a strict style of music. People said, "You will be sorry if you do all Texas Dance Hall Ray Price 4/4 shuffles". I am not sorry! Even some of the guys wanted to throw in a little bit of swing. I would not have it----this CD was to be Johnny Bush, Ray Price 4/4 shuffle all the way. As I see it, you can't please everyone by trying to mix different materials. Second difference in our CD and others is: All of our songs are original songs, well written, and great in their own right. They are not old songs done by a hundred different peoople. So no one can say Buddy Emmons played that song better than Keith Hilton, because they are new songs. All of the songs were written by musicians who played night clubs all their life. From this we get songs from the REAL WORLD, from REAL LIFE. I had some ground rules for the song writers. No drinking songs, a woman is always right,the man is always wrong. A woman is to be always put on a pedistal. All of the songs are to be about love and love lost. I don't think love and love lost will ever get old, even if they allow GAY marriage. I may not be a great steel guitar player, but on this type of material I can get dangerous. I would not let Terry Bethel play steel, I kept him in the control room. Yes, Terry possibly could have played better steel guitar, as he is a better steel player than me. Then again, let your ears be the judge, as I was pretty inspired when I did the steel parts. |

We caught Sophia and Sienna offguard while they were working on their next album. Maybe if Grandpa Gary is real nice, they will include one of his songs on the album.

| John, why don't you post a picture of the CD cover. I don't know how to post it. I think our CD cover is the best picture on a CD I have ever seen. Twin girls all dressed up at Christmas. By the way John, Terry Bethel's favorite song on the CD is the song you wrote, "Between The Roses." |

| When Gary showed me a picture of his Grandchildren, I knew this had to be the picture on our CD cover. I love our CD cover. I want to thank the many people who have bought our CD. It is great to see people excited about REAL COUNTRY MUSIC. Country music is not REAL country music without the steel guitar. |

I Got Keith New CD's today, All three of them. I think Keith has out did his Self this time. Best buy I have Made on CDs, If you like 4/4 Shuffles you need to Get this CD. All the Guys that put this together did a great Job. This is a top notch job. Keep up the good work Keith.

I guess you knew I could play the steel guitar, as you have been coming to the town Fair, Hootin and Hollerin, in Gainsville for 20 plus years. I suppose you know Don Sulivan died. Morey Sulivan, Hank Thompson's bass player, and band leader, will be with me in Gainsville again this year. J.T. was there anything I did on steel guitar that curled your hair? What about the intro to "That Lie I Told Last Night", or maybe the intro to "Looking for Lipstick"? |
