Thanks so much for posting that Norman. I was not familiar with the group. The sound is so pristine, it's magnificant.

Little Quinn's enthusiasm and expression of enjoyment brought tears to my eyes. What a boy.

I've viewed several other Youtube videos of them.

I see that their Mom (Lanet)is starting to play bass now. Nice tone on the steel, which is a Rick bakelite of course! Very Happy He got that guitar from Derrick Mau I believe...

Great stuff, to have the Benny Rogers thread alive and well is most encouraging, nicely done Timi.

Timi was a student of the late Ronald Kanahele, cousin to Feet Rogers. I'm wondering if the steel once belonged to Uncle Ronald. Dereck Mau would know for sure. It truly is wonderful to see the Rogers Family style being kept alive.

Yes, what a legacy that familly left, i've pm'd dereck re timis tuning, especially in his version of g boogie ( as he calls it ) he's nailed a few licks there that have eluded me, feel free to offer up timis tuning, im hoping its an A based version, Bennys c jam boogie seems to lend itself to that, gratefull for any help.

Exquisite Rogers tone! Timmy has that touch that seems can only be passed down. I wish I could get it!

Timmy plays the Rick Bakelite that Uncle Ron left him. I know (knew) them both.

Nice to know Timis tuning details might be getting a bit closer as acquaintances come forward. A nice little lottery win and Id be off to the islands to see it for myself.

If Timmy uses the Rogers' tuning, that'd be:

hi to low
F#
D
A
F#
D
D (low bass)

Rev. Dennis Kamakahi once told me Feet Rogers used this tuning with E tuning string gauges "slacked" a whole step.

With your ear Jeff, I think that you would come close to the Rogers tone if I put a 1938 Rickenbacher Bakelite on your lap to play.

Furthermore, I wish I could get your David Keli'i sound which you get on your Rickenbacher frypan.

Enjoyed your playing at the Outrigger.
