I used to own a smaller version of that instrument, but through the years I started losing the bridges and it started coming apart. I never knew what it was called, just thought of it as a mini-koto. I just picked it up at a flea market for $10. Ultimately, I trashed it. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

How are they tuned? Are they just 12 strings a half step apart? This girl is freakin' awesome. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . They are a Korean zither and I was told they go from 12 to 25 strings. I think each string has two notes depending what side of the bridge they are played on. There used to be a guy in Santa Cruz that had some, the Chinese have a similar instrument, but I don't know what it is called. _________________ Die with Memories. Not Dreams.

There are so many Chinese variations, check out this link.
Each has its own sound and playability.

Ive watched a number of her videos before, and she has certainly picked some very cool songs to cover. Its an instrument many westerners are unfamiliar with, including me. I had posted this a few years ago on another thread:

Very cool! I love the exotic sound of Eastern instruments.
My wife is Korean, and this doll from her mother (in picture on right) has been in our home for years.
I never knew exactly what it was called till now.
It has 12 strings. |

This chick kind of illustrates where music comes from, at it isn't tab. I would venture to say she has a great knowledge of not only her instrument but Music Theory and has a good ear. Certainly entertaining. _________________ Die with Memories. Not Dreams.
