I started playing lap slide on a $25 Stella... I think the cracks made it sound better. The perloid and painted on grain were pretty cool. I didn't need to raise the nut 'cause the neck was bent about 10 degrees.

Of all the things I've tried since like resonators and Weissenborns, I still like the sound of a acoustic guitar best. But after exploding a few over the years I finally decided to order what I really wanted.

In process is a Short Mountain jumbo extra deep with a square neck beefed up just a little to handle the tension. It's no Roy Smeck but then again neither am I.
