Gold Tone LS-8 has bridge/control plate/ ashtray issues.

The string length is 3/32" longer on the treble side, you can fit a flatpick (heavy) between the control plate and the body in 4 places, and it took two (!) tries for the luthier to drill the screw holes in the control plate to match the (uneven) holes in the ashtray.

Any other recent LS-8 owners notice details like these?
