I was playing and My Fender Steel King just shut down. just like I turned off the switch.Fuses all good, 3 inside cabinet.
I dont have a manual. Has anyone had this problem?? Im thinking maybe the power supply?? any thoughts? I will take it to repair shop but closest one from here is 3 hours.

Just a couple thoughts....

Did you check to see if it was a circuit breaker, or fuse, that blew out? Maybe plug a lamp into the outlet to check it?

Odd that no fuse blew, yet it shut down.
Best regards,
Mike

There is a fuse located inside the chassis, you will have to remove the chassis to change it.

I assume that "inside the cabinet" would cover inside the chassis.

Sometimes the power transformer has an internal thermal cutout... This normally means replacement time.

Stephen...If I stated the obvious please excuse my post, my Jazz King (same basic amp?) had that exact symptom and that was the problem.

Thanks for the help. I checked every thing to the transformer. from there I'm lost. Most of the time when something quits you get smoke or fireworks, but this just died quietly. sending to fender service center.
Thanks again

No biggie, I'd just expected that he'd checked the fuses inside already.

Yes, if the transformer's not working then the only sane option is replacement. I assume the thermal cutouts are in there to protect plastic bobbins... or perhaps mandated by CSA etc. I've had success bypassing them... but I don't recommend it.
