I was just watching this video of me playing this BMI guitar. The guitar is a modified/restored steel that I no longer have. Miss that guitar. At any rate, as I listened to this I could hear my mentor Zane Beck in my approach to this song "Shadow Of Your Smile". What a master player and builder he was! His impact on the steel guitar will be here forever.

Zane,
When we lost Zane Beck, we lost an Icon is the Steel Guitar World. Many of us feel like we were cheated by not getting to spend time with the man like you did. I'm sure if he were alive today, he would continue to advise you to continue with the creativity and only do the "Corn Shulking" when necessary, LOL

Zane, as always, your playing is superb and I, too, hear the Zane Beck influence in that song. Brings back some pleasant nostalgia and I always think of that teal colored BMI Zane Beck was playing the first time I met him and heard him play.

I ran across an old photo from either the 1977 or 1978 St Louis Convention. It's a photo of Zane Beck (on that teal BMI) and a young fellow playing along with him on another BMI ... is that you with Zane in the photo?

Great job Zane, very enjoyable. Why did you get rid of that guitar and who has it now?......Thanks, JH in Va.
