Hi, Im in New-Orleans for a week and I hope I will have the chance to see local steel player, tricone swing would be great, and will go to Lafeyette to hear cajun music.

Any tips would be apreciated, thank.

Jean,

Not for sure if you've locked in your Cajun experience in LaFayette but I would suggest making a call to Carroll Benoit (reso guitar builder - http://www.benoitguitars.com/) and discussing it with him. Carroll has several family members that live in the LaFayette area (Breaux Bridge)- http://www.martinaccordions.com/. They may be able to lock you on to the best music in the area during your time there.

Have fun,
Nelson

Hi, I'm back from Louisiana. I didn't see any steel player but I had a great time! Very inspiring, my best are the street band in Nola like Tuba Skinny and I ad the chance to see a cajun music jam at the Blue Moon at Lafayette, I had my steel so I jammed a couple of songs, it was very fun but it was hard for me the understand the style, but they was very kind with me. Food was great too, a very nice place!
