There's Linkon steels made in Winnipeg by Wayne Link,he's been making them for 30 years and he's a great guy if you give him a call (204) 895-9602 .He's a legend around here :) He even taught Brad Paisleys current steel guitarist.

There's a fellow around here in Carleton Place (just west of Ottawa) named Mac Knowles that makes guitars in small numbers. I haven't seen any in person, but they look pretty nice on his website.

There was also Pat Comeau from New Brunswick who began building steels although I'm not sure if his intention was to market them or not. He used to post on the forum.
Bent's guitars are beautiful and look to be very well made. The Fulawkas have a great reputation but there is supposedly a lead time of several years and the builder, Ed, is in his 80's...hard to ignore if you're considering a new Fulawka.

Wayne has been a friend of our family for over 25 years, and we have been to a lot of his steel shows, and he was always a great help to the steel world here in Canada, but we also live 500 miles from him and he sure never taught Randle, so not sure where that came from.

Another plug for Wayne ....
He has quite a few CDs available (mostly classic country music) featuring some Canadian music Legends like Smokey Ferlin, Art Young, Ray St. Germain, and of course Wayne on the pedal S.G. Give Wayne a call.

I have got to know Wayne Link over the years and if you do not get him involved in some way you will not have near as much fun - that BIG smile and fun attitude will help more than anyone else can do.

He is a great guy and just want to put a positive spin on that potential show up there. :D

Great guy and great friend

and what about getting Steel Guitar of Canada involved - Al could be a great help too
