Post by Rickey Mitchell »

Once again up for sale is my 1932 Dobro.
Im also including a very nice hard shell case and last but not least a brand new never used Jerry Douglas, Fisherman Spider-style Resophonic pick up, they sell new for $208.
My Dobro was professionally refinished.
The sound is a warm beautiful sound and the substain
is excellent. The price is +shipping $800.

Pretty sure I see a spider in there. I might be mistaken but looks like a single cone spider bridge guitar, not a Tricone.

Also, that is the Fishman "Jerry Douglas" pickup for spider bridge.

It is the Jerry Douglas spider bridge, and it will fit this Dobro. As far as it being a Tricone I'm not an expert, so I will edit it. The price is the same.

Somewhat hard to tell by the photos, but with the absence of body bindings and the early coverplate, it looks like a model 55 (although I've always remembered these to have fretboard binding??

This was the condition I bought it in. I bought it because it has a sound. I'd had to spend a round $3000 to get from any thing new.

actually that guitar is the rather hard to find, original model 27 squareneck, California made Dobro.
Ive only seen one other and it belonged to Johnny Cash. I believe that Uncle Josh told me that he got it for John in the 60's.
Nice guitar you have there, Rickey. Do you have any pics from before the refin?

No, sorry to say I don't.This Dobro was in the vintage guitar collectionof a music store here in fresno for a few years. When the store was sold, My friend who was the manager sold it to me for what he paid for it.
