Earlier, Andy Volk posted a thread on Bill Evans as a guest on Marian McPartland's "Piano Jazz" radio program, produced through NPR. Thanks Andy, Bill Evans certainly was one of my favorite jazz pianists. Another was Alice Coltrane, although she was equally adept on hammond organ and symphonic harp.

I have the great good fortune of having a CD of the "Piano Jazz" episode in which Marian interviews Alice Coltrane. Here are two YouTubes of Alice performing two of her compositions from that interview:

Beautiful. I've heard of her for many years but don't recall hearing her play before now.
