Jimmy is not only a great guy and fantastic musician, he is a really good teacher. I took a lesson from him a few years ago at his house in Jersey |

Yes, Jim's a great player and teacher, a great guy. He lived here in western Mass 30-35 years ago and we played a few shows "in different bands together". Jim was THE dobro player in this area, and has since gone on to bigger and better things. I remember he bought his first pedal steel about 30 years ago and he came to my house a couple of times and we and did some pickin' and made some mechanical adjustments on his Emmons push/pull. Seems like a lifetime ago. Yes, he's a great teacher, picker, and he Loves the dobro! _________________ My Site / My YouTube Channel

Jim, that is STRONG, man! Great blocking, too. Anybody know what kind of guitar that is? |

After checking out all kinds of options for trying to learn resonator guitar I have really bought in to Heffernan's stuff. He offers lessons for all levels, and not only do you learn great songs but he goes into depths teaching you all kinds of techniques (slanting, bends, harmonics, etc are all stuffed into his songs). From a guy who hates focusing on exercises and scales (so boring) I love the fact that I can get the basics while I am learning songs that I can jam with other musicians on. Lots of great teachers out there right now - but nobody breaks it down like Jimmy! |
