Hey Roger, I know you've known Albert Lee for many years and I was wondering if you knew what amp he was playing these days? I've seen him on YouTube a bunch with MusicMan amps on a lot of the videos. Every time I do, I dig out my old MusicMan 212 and take it to the gig but then I come home with a broken back from lifting it in and out of the van. On some videos I've seen him with a MM combo amp of some sort and also with a piggyback rig....Thanks...JH in Va.

PS..When you comin' back to Va. Beach?

Well, I'm not Roger, but I have something to add:

Summer 2011 Albert played with Carl Verheyen at a free concert in Culver City, CA (part of Culver City's 'Free Summer Concert' series). At that time he was playing through two Fender Tone-Master amps with matching Fender 4x12 cabinets. He had cut a square hole in the center of the back panel on each cabinet. After the show I got to help him load the amps into his car. I asked about them and he said he was really happy with them. The Tone-Master came out at the same time as the Vibro-King but have since been discontinued. I liked them better than the Vibro-King and was pleasantly suprised to see Albert liked them too! There are videos up on YouTube if anybody wants to search them out.

As it happens, I just saw Albert Lee last night at the 299 seat theater in the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix. At 69 the guy is still as vibrant as ever, really can't say enough.
Albert played through a blackface Fender Twin. I was close enough to hear his guitar directly from the Twin..
SMOKIN'!!!
