Brother Forumite Paddy long from New Zealand has just welcomed home his Son David from a six month tour of duty in Afghanistan with the N.Z Military.
I know Paddy is so proud of his boy and I would like him to know that we steelers are also proud of him.
Cheers for Paddy and David

I have to agree! I met Paddy on a 5 week visit to NZ last year. Paddy was very hospitable as he came to my motel and visited with me. I know Paddy is very proud of his son and also glad to have him home. I am also proud to say I now know and proud to have met Paddy Long.

Regards
Ken

Wow Billy and Ken -- so very nice of you both to mention this on the forum. Yes it is with much relief that my son David, and all the other Kiwi boys are safely home from Afghanistan.....and good luck to the lads who have taken over the next rotation, may they remain safe.

I will sleep a lot easier in the coming weeks ha!!!
He is coming to my pub gig this sunday as my roadie --- which will be a bit of a change for him - carrying my steel instead of an automatic weapon !
