Will we have the great fortune of hearing a steel player at Red Rocks? |

Steel player with Zac Brown? I've never seen a steel player with them. |

Clay Cook, the guitarist in the band plays steel. He's a multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar, keyboards, mandolin, and pedal steel guitar. He plays a Magnum steel. |

Ah! Didn't realize. I don't own their albums, but I haven't heard steel on any of their radio hits or seen anyone play steel on any of the live clips I've run across. Thanks for the info. |

Jim, You're likely to hear at least a little steel- but they spread Clay around on B3, guitar, and other things. There are some steel bits on some of Zac's tunes, but generally not standout solos. You may remember Clay from his stint with Marshall Tucker Band, or as John Mayer's Original partner. He gets around- I met him when he played bass when we were in Sugarland together. I predict a breakout solo career for him- he's also an astounding singer and has a record coming out on Zac's Souther Ground label. I don't know if he's playing a Magnum or his sweet old ShoBud these days. _________________ Stop by the Steel Store at: www.markvanallen.com
