I listed my Carter D10 yesterday and in the process of taking pic's of the Carter....I found a bunch pictures of steel guitars I have owned over the years. I though I would share some pictures of the guitars....because there have sure been some good ones in the bunch. I wish I still had every one of them.

I have been fortunate to own some good guitars. The Williams was a gorgeous guitar. The workmanship is just over the top. Everything on it was like jewelry. The pedal action was very fast and light. I wasn't wild about the keyless headstock on the particular guitar I had. The Fessy was a different feel but they play nice and they have great tone. I really like the Carters as they play fantastic, sound good and are light weight. They remind me of the sports car of the pedal steel world. The pedals work very smoothly and the whole guitar just works. Then on to the Derby's...I have to say they are my favorite. They are heavy but boy do they sound good. The teal one was gorgeous...but the two tone blue one had a sound to it. The older Derby's (which the blue one was) actually had a slightly larger cabinet and they really had that Emmons tone. I noticed it because I made a cover for the Teal one and it fit nice...but then I got the blue one and it barley would stretch over it. There was something about that guitar....but I still know where that one is. _________________ Carter D10 9 x 5, Nashville 112, Goodrich L10K |

As for comparisons between motor vehicles and pedal steels, I've often said that playing my ShoBud D10 is like driving a Chevy pickup and playing my D10 Carter is like driving a Prosche. - Jack _________________ Jack Aldrich

You're right Lee....I do remember getting the two tone blue one from you and later you bought the Williams from me. That blue derby is one of the best I have ever played. _________________ Carter D10 9 x 5, Nashville 112, Goodrich L10K |
