A new book just came out called "Nashville Steeler". It is about the life of Don Davis as told to Ruth White. It has 100 pictures in it. This book is very well written. Don was first a very fine Steel player who became a Music Business Executive. You can get the book from "Amazon.com" and "Barns and Noble"Bill Paisley

Thanks for the tip, Bill.

Don posted a bunch of times here during 2010 under the handle "Don S. Davis" before going abruptly silent: our great loss. Do a search, see what comes up.

Added 1/23/13: Went to my local Barnes & Noble to buy this and they told me publication has been delayed.

Nashville Steeler

And then there's The Beast From the Back of the Bus if you like murder mysteries with steel guitar content.

I agree, it's an interesting read, though there's far more stories and pictures about his personal life, the stars he's worked for, and "the business", than there is about steel and steel players. For people interested Stars of the old days, what the Nashville music business was like, and Don's career, it's a good book.

I have a library of thousands of books and magazines on may subjects, but the days of printed media are sorta coming to a close. If you like this kind of stuff (things that you can read without a computer) you should get it while you can. Wink
