It sounds a little cleaner when you do the setup you're planning.More hassle to set up,but everything is where it belongs in the signal path.

ALSO....The Ken Fox mod in a NV112 does very nice things, and I've heard you can install those chips in later NV112s if you're good with a soldering iron.If Ken sees this thread, maybe he can confirm that.

I experimented with different signal paths on my NV 112, and found that putting effects and volume pedal in line on the pre EQ loop sounded best. I also run the steel output into the high gain amp input.

Your setup is exactly right, but since all effects and vol. pedals have their own characteristics, you might want to do some experimenting. Often the effects are finicky and have their own ideas on where they should be, despite the dictates of logic!

So far I have not heard of any new N112 amps that do not have sockets in them. I think the one I saw was a rare one.

If one had an amp with soldered in chips then it would be best to put IC sockets in first.

with one 112 it is easy to setup. With two, it becomes a little more complex but you can split up youre pedals if you don't mind doint it that way. I just run one stereo reverb pedal. In on the mono end and stereo out to each of my amps inputs.

I bought my first 112 in 2010 and it already came ith IC sockets. Ken I need to install chips in my 112's it made a world of difference in my 1000.
