1984 Sho Bud Pro II

Post by Jonathan Bjork »

I bought this from original owner couple of years ago, used a few times and now sits in case. I give up trying to learn to play. Daughter is getting married so here she goes... $1900 + shipping, has original case and bag for legs and pedal rods, alos a Sho-Bud volume pedal. Wish it was someone local but just needs to go to a good home with much love. I know I had this up in the past , but this is it. Thanx for looking, please no trades, I have enough stuff.... contact me here or call cell 903-520-6679....God bless

Interesting - it says Pro-II on the front but sure looks like a Super-Pro what with the short keyhead and short body.

Bump for a nice guitar. David, the pot metal doesn't effect the guitar unless you are Hulk Hogan with it. You can also get replacement brackets these days.

Having talked to a couple of members, there are only 2 knee levers, this is the way it came, funny I have the original bill of sale and catalogue, it shows $200 for each additional knee lever, seems like alot

in my opinion, if a guy put more than 3 leavers on that bridge, it would be clustered and you would need the dexterity of a poor unfortunate born with 6 fingers on his right hand. I just cant work the levers with my right hand because of arthritis and I think for a six string, a guy wouldn't want more than 2 levers. I should have bought a pedal steel for the money I paid. Oh well, I will hope for someone that wants one of these and has a steel to trade.

I'm pretty sure from the pictures and the description that this is my old Sho-Bud that I bought brand new in 1984, if not it is a clone. This thing has tone to the bone and the only reason I sold it was because I have no need for the C6 neck in the bands that I've been in and it's too heavy, plus I needed more knee levers...but this is a very good guitar. Good luck with your sale.

This generation of Pro series guitars from ShoBud are essentially a Super Pro mechanism mounted in the earlier, slightly smaller Pro series body.

These guitars have powerful tone to shake your very soul, and the 5-hole bellcrank system times up the best of all the ShoBud models. Pot metal part failures have given these guitars a bad rap, but any parts that would have failed on this guitar very likely have already done so, although it would be nice to see photos of the undercarriage.

This is a first-rank performing guitar at a very sweet price, somebody is going to score here...
