I will be in McKinney, Texas, the weekend of March 24, 25, and 26. Are there any decent places that I can visit to hear traditional Country music with fiddles and steel guitars? I will be with my future in-laws, so it is crucial that I do not take them to a dive. Please respond, amigos! THANKS!

P.S. Dallas isn't too far away, so speak up if you know a few good places there, too!

Tay, there is only one place I know of in McKinney to listen to live music. That would be Hank's Texas Grill. They really don't have traditional country like you are asking for at that place. If you are wanting steels and fiddles, you will probably have to do like the rest of us and go to good old Ft. Worth. Try Pearl's dancehall.

Mark,
I appreciate the information you provided, and I dig your website! Please keep me posted if you happen to hear of any other venues showcasing the pedal steel in the McKinney area. See you 'round!

Thanks for the props Tay. Hey, it looks like the great Mark Chesnutt will be at Gilley's on the 24th. I'm not sure if he has a fiddle, but I promise he will have a hot steel picker. And, Gilley's is a nice place. That should be an enjoyable time for sure. Ya'll have fun!
