I recently purchased a 1979 Sho-Bud Super Pro. It has the switch to select the neck that you would like to use, but it came with another switch, a capacitor, a knob and some other parts in a bag. I believe the knob is for the tone, but what would the other switch be for? I found a picture of a similar guitar with the switches and knob intact, but I have not been able to find out what the other switch is for.

The switch is most likely a bypass switch if you want to take the tone control out of the loop.

The only other thought might be a coil tap for your pickup. If it has a humbucker in it, you may be able to split it to a single coil.

Coil tap? How 'bout a pic from the other side? So we can actually see how it's wired. I think Jim is probably correct though, as it looks like the cap is wired to the switch.

With the stock wiring, the second switch is definitely bypass switch for the tone control.

But you mentioned "some other parts"?

I'll see if I can find a pic of the wiring. When I bought the guitar, the seller said that the tone potentiometer is gone, but the switch is included. When I got it, I opened the case and found a zip-loc bag with the switch, a capacitor, tone knob and other parts. In the pic above where the second switch and tone knob are, there are just holes on mine, so it looks like the other parts are for whatever goes in those holes. The only thing missing is the potentiometer.

Does anybody know where I might be able to find a potentiometer for a 1979 Sho-Bud Super Pro?
