What a great time and great music. Good turnout. Saturday night after the jam, John Hughey soloed with Jim Hartley on drums and Wayne Smith on bass. You could hear a pin drop! What a master of tone and heart.

I must agree with you Dr. Strum..

The Sat. night Jam was wall to wall Steel Guitars. This was not a weekend to have missed.

John needs to do the John Hughey request set more offen.

Sunday was nearly a packed house all day.

The House Band just gets better & better, Woody Ledford,Johnny Thomas,Bob Strickland,Wayne Smith,Jim Hartly,Wayne Stowers and Jerry Reese. Today we had Jack Moletta (not sure of the spelling) he brought his drummer , Bass, and fiddel player to add to the Staff band.

You just should have been there.

See you next time in May.
Larry

The Sunday show was one of the better ones with David Christmas, Larry Moore, Roger Crawford
Playing some nice sets. Rob Parker was sounding good with his singing and playing his Mullen on his set.
That’s almost impossible to sing and play a steel guitar, but he did well.
Dr. Bob Strum had a beautiful set with some of the standards , full chord progressions and he has nice tone and execution. Tommy Dodd tore the house down with some of his picking “ Highway 40 blues”,” Come Dance with me” were outstanding.
Then the Great Herby Wallace did some nice tunes and closed his set with his famous rendition of “My Window faces the South” .He worked over the backup band which was super all day. He is such a super Picker. Then Charles Reece had to follow Herby and had a wonderful set. One of the highlights was his son and beautiful daughter singing together. You could see the big smile on his face, it was a moment he will remember for years to come.
John Hughey showed us all about tone and expression with his set. He went thru some of his recording tunes “ Sweet Memories” and others. Close his set with his famous “Look at Us”, Standing ovation for a super picker.
And then I had to follow John Hughey ,Whew!!! Nerve -racking and playing a strange guitar. But we had a good time with Terry Rodgers singing “Blue Spanish Eyes “on my set. Good job Terry.
Thanks Charles for letting me use your guitar.

Will do, Vernon! By the way, what's Grady's last name? I've got an old pal that might ride down with me.

Vern, I did not get a chance to speak with you after your set, but wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed listening and admiring your technique. I hope to catch up with you again at Grady's one of these day that I can make it down. Stay well.

Vern,

I will try my best to make to Grady's on the 21st. I will also try to get Lloyd Brigman to come as well. He lives just a few blocks from me.

As for my set at saluda...I did not do one. You have me confused with someone else. I think I know who had in mind, but I cannot remember his name for the life of me at the moment. Oh well, at our age we are entiled to some senior moments.

Boy You were right about Jim Hartley. What a great job he did with Russ and Laney Hicks last night in Brooksville Fl. Now if only he could have stayed over to hit a golf ball with us.
