I have a Fender Custom triple neck guitar I just acquired. Only one pickup worked so I took her apart to see what was happening. Found that one of the bad pickups was not wired in and the other is missing the bobbin inside.
Question: I'd like to test the ones with the bobbins. Can anyone tell me how to do this and what values I should get. I tried to test continuity on the pickup leads but got noting on the meter.
Also: Need to get at least one of them rebuilt with new bobbin. Can anyone out there refer me to someone who can rebuild/rewind these pickups?
Thanks! |

I'm sending one of my Dual Pro pickups to Sentell Pickups for a re-wind. I need to get that guitar ready to sell it.
Jason Lollar is really busy these days, or I would send it there.
Maybe one of the pickup builders online could build you a new bobbin & wind it etc for you as well as re-wind one of the others. |

Shipping out there by USPS priority mail is reasonable.
RE multimeter testing- I believe that these pickups should have DC resistance of about 10K ohm. I could assess the pickups on my Dual Pro 8 without disasssembly by selecting the pickup and measuring resistance across the contacts of a connected guitar cord. Correct resistance does not necessarily mean good performance. The pickup Aero rewound recently had been rewound previously and had correct resistance but low sound output. |

Lindy Fralin did mine. Sent him the entire pickup assembly. Very reasonable. _________________ Howard Parker
