I'm just beginning to play this instrument.

I invite any comments you may have.

I simply want to have a STANDARD copedent, indeed if such a thing exists.

Many thanks in advance.

I use the 3rd string raise to C# a lot - it's a very standard change.

I've never lowered my 5th string G to F. Most people don't. I wouldn't consider it a standard change.

Agree with b0b on both counts. I've never explored that F change however. There might be some interesting things you can do.

I would suggest 1. putting the 3rd string C# raise on the lever where the Bb change is.

2. replacing the F change lever with the 4th string to Bb/B with a good mechanical half stop. The B will give you a nice Maj7 tone that you can use with all your floor pedals.

Everyone else will probably tell you something different. Laughing

You have all the fundamentals changes there however, and it's just a matter of personalizing your tuning as you advance and sort out your own changes preferences. Good Luck. Smile

C6 seems to be where everybody differs the most. No REAL standard....... what works for you is the rule.

Used to be, almost everyone had the same as Jimmy Day:

Then Buddy Emmons changed the top string to D and added the other 3 levers:

Buddy's is pretty much the standard today. Any other changes are personal quirks.

Thanks Bob, Jerry & Raul. I've printed off copies so I can take a good look at what you suggest.
