I bought a set of Dean Markley E9th strings recently and now I'm wondering if they were sitting on the shelf since the 70s. Should I put them on my guitar or use them as spares? |

I'd put them on and go for it.I don't think they deteriorate just by sitting on a shelf or in storage somewhere, unless they're rusty.
I've used those strings on my Martin D-18 for bluegrass before. They were excellent.IMO

A few years I picked up a couple of boxes of Dean Markley E9 and C6 strings. I am down to my last set of Robert Randolph E9. No issues with them having sat ion my shelf for 3 or more years and who knows how long before then. Decent quality strings imho. _________________ Justice Pro Lite (4-5), Justice D-10 (8-5)x2 , Quilter Steelaire, Hilton Pedal, BJ's bar. |

Thanks guys. I bought them with a couple singles to string an extended E9th. It's an adventure all the way around. |
