Peavey TransTube Fex - Owner's Manual

I'm looking for a TransTube Fex owner's manual. I have a manual for a TubeFex so no need to respond if that's what you have. Peavey factory no longer has the TTF manual.

Thanks,

Ken

You can get it in PDF format from Peavey's Support page.

Brad:

Thanks for the information but I didn't see one listed for the TransTube Fex on Peavey's website. They do have the older Tube Fex manual that I already have.

They have the TransTube Fex manuals but only for the amplifiers with the built in TTF effects modules, that's correct. Sorry for the confusion.

I once needed something similar and contacted Mike Brown who is here on the Forum and works for Peavey and he found the item and sent it too me. You may do a search and find his email and ask him of he can get you a manual.

Actually, I started with Mike Brown. He said he'd have them send me one if they have it. I received a manual that week but it was for the Tube Fex. That manual certainly helps, but I would like to get one that was made for the TransTube Fex since that is the unit I have.

Thanks for all the input and ideas.

There's a little difference between the two, and I had a TransTube Fex, but the TubeFex manual should give you most of what you need.

Anything particular you need that is not covered int he TubeFex manual?

Hi, Ken,I used a TubeFex manual for my TTFex, and couldn't find anything that wasn't covered. Same operation and controls across the board, as I recall.

Mark, if I remember correctly there was a slight difference in the rear panel I/O connections or speaker emulator selection. Been a while since I had my TTFex.

I was just trying to see if the TTF manual had additional information in it than the TubeFex manual does not have, as the input/outputs and some settings are a little different.

One of the primary questions I have though, is if I load all presets from a cache card into the TTF via the "Load Cart -> User" command, will that overwrite all presets currently stored in the TTF User Preset Memory (U0 thru U127)? If so, it would appear I would need to download all user presets to a blank card before loading the new presets into the unit. Otherwise, I'd lose all my customized user presets. Any advice or thoughts?

You are correct. If you load the user memory from a cache card (e.g. with the Newman programs) everything else will get overwritten and will be gone. You need to copy the current user memory to a separate cache card first.

This function works the same as it does in a Profex II.

There are some effects that have name changes but are the same. When I created the Newman Profex II program listing (around 1998) that is on my web site, I did it with my Transtube Fex and some Profex II effects were listed as a different effect in the TransTube Fex. Smiley Roberts (mainly) and a couple others helped me correct the listing. I think there are still a couple that we never corrected. I no longer have a TransTube Fex so all I can do is put a statement on my web site that the list is provided "as is", although its probably 99% correct and a comment not to contact me.

A lot of people have downloaded the Profex II listing and the TransTube/Tube Fex listings and I've only had a couple of comments and those were all on the Profex II listing.

Jack:

Thanks for your help and the additional information. I'll have a look at your website for the listing.

Ken, the other option is to simply leave the card in the unit when playing, and the presets will show up as a third bank "C". then you have both your old presets and the card presets available.
