This past spring I was invited to be a part of a unique concept for a new Leann Rimes CD.

This was truly a great musical experience to be a part of this amazing tracking band complimenting an unbelievably gifted singer...The tracking band was Dean Parks, Steve Jordan, Willie Weeks, Waddy Wachtel, Dan Tyminski and me....Three acoustic instruments, bass, drums, and steel....Here's a live track performance that was just put up to preview the CD.

Leann Rhimes just keeps on keepin on! And what a great bunch of musicians and what can you say about Paul that's been said many times; "pretty good" steel player.
I'll buy that cd.........

Very nice! She absolutely floored me when 'Blue' hit the charts in the mid-90s. It was so hard to believe that voice could belong to a fourteen year old. I haven't followed her much since she drifted away from traditional country but I still recognize her as one of the all time great voices. Her ' LeAnne Rimes ' album has not been out of the tray of my CD changer for over a year. It is my all time favorite CD to play along with and for my money no one, not even Patsy Cline herself, did a better version of 'Crazy' than Leanne did on that album.
I like the sound of this. It looks like a good candidate for the X'Mas wish list.

Paul- thanks for sharing this on the forum- so rare to have an absolute pro share their experience, and especially excitement about what they're doing, with humility on an on-line forum.

thanks,

asa

Great song and arrangement. Is that Dawn Sears standing in the shadows?

I just was thinking the other day, if people like Waddy Wachtel are still getting work nowadays? Now it's proven.
